All our synthetic sleeping bags have a first insulation layer of X-Static® fibre (details below) and the warmer bags in the range have varying compositions of Suspension Woven Fibres and outer thermal barriers.
The X-Static® fibre has been completely and universally coated with pure silver. There are many naturally occurring benefits and properties of silver, all of which give value, benefit and performance to end users.
Antimicrobial - Reduces odour from micro-organisms.
Anti-odour - Neutralises ammonia and denatured proteins which are two principle causes of odour.
Thermodynamic - Silver is thermally the most conductive and reflective element.                                                                                     Conduction, the primary cause of body heat loss in hot temperatures, is accelerated due to the conductivity of the fibre.
Radiation, the primary cause of body heat loss in cold temperatures, is reflected back due to the reflectivity of the fibre.
