Innovative hook-buckles on the front of many of our rucksacks allow any of our compatible daypacks to be attached and used as a front pocket, daypack or front pack. There are six daypacks to choose from – the Boonah, Clip-On, Hang-On, Hitchhiker, Limpet and Zipless – ranging from the simple to the fancy pants, the big to the small, adding extra features, size and versatility to your rucksack. These daypacks are an optional extra – great, if you don’t want one you don’t have to pay for it! The aluminium buckles are robust and very easy to use, and barely noticeable when not in use.
Compatible large One Planet rucksacks are the Sidetrack, Umbra, Shadow, WBA, Angus, Elvis, Ned, Tom Thumb, Tuk-Tuk and Wheelie.
All One Planet travel and hybrid packs have zip sliders that can be locked for extra security.
Many people use small padlocks, but cable ties are another excellent option. They still act as a deterrent to petty thieves, but if customs need to look inside your bag, they simply cut the cable ties instead of your expensive padlock. Carry a few spares for each time you get on a plane – simple.
For versatility on the road, the Longreach and Tasman rucksacks have detachable daypacks. These are attached to the main body of the pack using large YKK zips, giving added security. A 180 degree zip in the shape of an inverted U is used to secure daypacks to the main body of the pack, making the attachment easy to use and durable.
Rucksacks with two openings and compartments allow easy organisation of your gear. If you’re someone who likes to pack a pack ‘just so’, then this style of pack is for you! Dual access also makes it easy to reach contents at the bottom of the pack, so you don’t have to unpack completely to reach your sleeping bag.
Often your rucksack won't be stuffed full. This can lead to an unstable load, as the contents shift and affect your balance. All One Planet rucksacks have compression straps, designed to cinch in the load and keep it stable. These are angled so that they lift the load up to a better carrying position, even when the pack isn’t full. These straps are hot cut to the appropriate entry angle, then bar tacked and triple-stitched in place, giving them incredible strength.
The large front pocket on many One Planet bushwalking rucksacks provides easy access to jackets, food and whatever else you need close at hand. A contoured flap protects the large, robust YKK zip from the elements, and stops water getting in.
An optional daypack can be attached to many compatible One Planet bushwalking, bushwalking light, hybrid and travel rucksacks using the innovative hook-buckles on the side compression straps. This adds versatility as the daypack can be attached to the front or back of the larger pack. When attached to the front, the daypack acts as a large front pocket.
The Tasman and Longreach rucksacks have detachable daypacks, giving you versatility when travelling. When attached to the pack, this daypack doubles as a large front pocket, simplifying organisation and access.
