Why choose One Planet tents?

Durability

If you want to test a tent’s durability, give it to a group of kids! That’s what we’ve been doing for more than two decades, and as a result, One Planet’s Industrial range is tough. The fabrics used in the fly, inner and floor are all heavier and tougher than usual, increasing their tolerance to abuse. We use big zips: they’re not only easier to use, they’re less likely to break. The key/pin attachment on the poles is simple and robust, while the pole clips are virtually unbreakable. And if something does go wrong, our factory is in Melbourne so we can service, repair or provide parts quickly and easily.

Usability
Decades of rigorous field-testing by the toughest user group – Australian kids! – ensures that our tents are not only durable, they’re also easy to use. They are made to withstand Australian conditions, from the heat of summer to the scrubby bush, and they do it well: the fact that they are used and preferred by many of Australia’s largest outdoor education providers is proof. Their generous size allows plenty of room to move, stretch and sleep, while the big vestibules make entry easy. The vestibule design protects the tent’s interior from the weather, even when the doors are open, and there’s plenty of room for storing gear. Pitching the tents is also easy due to their simple design using minimum pegs, and there is very little that can go wrong.

Service
We build our products to last, and get satisfaction out of seeing our gear still in use after years of hard treatment. The One Planet service doesn’t stop when you buy from us: we’re not based in China, we’re right here in Melbourne, so repairs, service and spares can be provided quickly, easily and efficiently. Our Industrial tents have fixed basic designs and specifications, allowing interchangeable parts between new and old models, and even between tent types. This reduces the gear pool and means that you won’t end up having to throw out a serviceable tent because its broken pole can’t be replaced. We can also modify tents to your specifications; for example, adding a reflective 'staff' logo on the side allows easy tent identification, day or night.
