Goondie 2-15D Mesh

This tent is so popular that it is temporarily out of stock! We expect it to be available again by September 2013.

Mesh by name, airy by nature... Goondie Mesh tents are perfect for warmer, more humid climates as their inners are made mostly from mesh, allowing fantastic breathability and air flow. (It also makes the mesh version a bit lighter than the standard alternative.) The vestibules can be rolled halfway up, creating fantastic flow-through ventilation even in the wet, bringing comfort in warmer conditions. Or the inner can be pitched alone for the ultimate in lightweight, cool camping. And the 15-denier fly option makes this model seriously light, as well as cool...

This is a practical, lightweight, two-person tent that doesn't sacrifice comfort for the sake of saving a few grams. It is very similar to its smaller sibling but bigger, with two external doors - necessary when two people need to access the tent and the vestibules. There is plenty of room to sit upright to get changed, as well as lots of gear storage. This tent is suitable for three-season use, and the freestanding construction and sturdy floor (no footprint required) make it easy to put up. The overhanging vestibules keep the inside dry even when the fly door is open, while the mid-size YKK zips are easy to reach. All this, and its total weight is just over two kilograms - what else do you need?

The Goondie tent series has high-walled, bathtub floors made from hard-wearing, 100 denier PU-coated HT nylon – so tough that a footprint for under the tent is not needed. The Goondie is freestanding, needing a minimum of two pegs to hold the vestibules out. (Two ‘mega pegs’ are included, as well as four alloy pegs for the guy lines.) When not in use, the four storm guys tuck into handy little pockets built into the reinforcing tabs.

The Goondie 2-15D fly is made from ultralight, 15-denier nylon, ideally suited for three-season bushwalking for the weight conscious. It is finished with silicone and polyurethane coatings (sil/PU) and is fully factory seam-sealed. (Please note: nylon has more elasticity than polyester, saving weight but making it more susceptible to UV rays.)
